Rajiv Open Institute believes that it is the appropriate time for developing countries like India to include vocational courses in education curriculum so that an entrepreneurial culture is created through inculcation of entrepreneurial values, attitude and competency among the minds of youth. Based on this assumption the Rajiv Open Institute are conducting different vocational educational programme which are –


Introduction: This particular course has been designed for the people who are interested to work in the Tea Garden.




  • To train eligible candidates in Tea Plantation & Tea Management so that they can be employed in the Tea Gardens as executives and supervisors.


  • To motivate the entrepreneurs to start their own venture in the field of Mini Tea Gardens.


  • To give the opportunities of employment to the local educated unemployed youth interested in Tea Plantation & Tea Management.

Eligibility:       Minimum Qualification is H.S. in any discipline. Age limit is from 18 to 35 years. Relaxation in respect of age & qualification will be considered for the candidates having work experience in Tea Garden and or person willing to start own Tea Plantation.


Duration: Six Months.


Syllabus & Lessons: The syllabus of the course has been designed to provide training on modern field practices in Tea Plantation & Tea Processing and Tea Garden Management.


Faculty Members: Professional in Tea Plantation, Processing, and Management etc. shall impart the training.


Certificate: Certificate shall be issued on the basis of percentage of attendance, & result of Final Examination & submission of the field assignment report.


This course is conducted for three months. Qualification required 10+2. Admission conducted four times in a year which is published in local news papers. After completion the course, successful participants generally get employment opportunity in Nursery and KG standard school. Now-a-days educational institute prefers Montessori trained teachers.

Maximum 10 students can be accommodated in a batch.

This course is being conducted by the Institute since 1996 as per the guidelines of ‘World Health Organisation (WHO)’. The acceptance of this course is very much positive and the trainees are coming from Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Dima Hasao besides three district of Barak Valley region. This is one year course (both theory and practical). Theory part including physiology, anatomy, virus and epidemic diseases is included in the course. Practical training are being conducted in recognized hospitals. In this course special training about various health programme like National Vaccine Programme, Family Welfare Programme, AIDS Awareness Programme, Cancer Awareness Programme, basic health care programme and first aid etc. After completion of theory part and practical training individual participant should have conducted a field assignment in his locality and also in surrounding area and submit a project report about his performance. This course has created self employment opportunity to the participants rendering service to the rural population. The course is of one year duration and two courses are conducted in a year one starting from January and 2nd one starting from July every year.Last date of submission of application form being 30th June and 31st December of each year.

Qualification: Minimum HSLC pass


This course is similar as Primary Health Workers course except that this course is accredited by “National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)” an organisation under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Deptt. of Education, Govt. of India. This course also starts from January and July of each year and last date of submission of application is similar to PHW course.

The Prospectus and Application form are supplied by NIOS and is available only in this institute on payment.


Introduction: The course is inconformity with the guidelines of World Health Organisation (WHO). The course is very useful for the peripherial Laboratories or to start a small Laboratory near the Rural Health Centres where such services are not available. The trained Laboratory Technician in such cases will contact the Doctor concerned of the Rural Health Centres for their further guidance and at the same time people of the area will get cost effective services. While conducting the course, emphasis are given on cost effective, reliability and simplicity of resources in small Laboratories. The Institute has got qualified faculties to run such course.

Doctors having M.D. Pathology, M.D. Microbiology, M.D. Biochemistry are visiting lecturers of the Institute for the course.

Duration: The Course is of One Year duration.

Eligibility: Minimum Qualification is  H.S.L.C onwards in any discipline. Age limit is within 30 years.

Syllabus: Syllabus has been tailored as per WHO norms with imparting basic knowledge of Pathology, Microbiology, Bio-Chemistry, Haematology, Cytology, Histopathology, Blood Bank. & Clinical Diagnosis. During the course there will be both Theory And Practical Classes.

Faculty Members: Professionals And Experts faculty members will impart the training programme. Visiting tutors’ are M.D. Pathology, M.D. Microbiology, M.D. Biochemistry.

Examination: class tests will be held regularly. Performance of the students will be continuously assessed. Final examination will be taken at the end of the session. External examiners are selected from the deptt. Of pathology/ microbiology/biochemistry of reputed medical institution.

Certificate: certificate shall be issued on the basis of percentage of attendance, & result of final examination.

     Class Timing: classes shall be held Monday to Thursday from 11-30 A.M. And Friday from 8 A.M generally. Vacations and holidays shall be notified from time to time.


Introduction: This is an accredited course of “National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)” an organisation under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. Rajiv Open Institute is the only accredited Institute of NIOS in Assam to conduct this course.

      This is one year course and there are two session every year June and December.


Eligibility: HSLC Passed or above.


Durations: The above course duration is One Year.

Certificate: Certificate shall be issued to the successful participants on the basis of the result of final assessment and percentage of attendance and performance in practical session at the end of the course.


Class Timing: Classes shall be held 2 days in a week (Saturday and Sunday). Classes on Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Prevented and Social Medicine shall also be taken.


Rajiv Open Institute is conducting different type of computer education programme. These are low cost courses in comparison to course fees of other organisation conducting these courses. As a result low income groups of people are availing these facilities.

Introduction: One of the additions in our list of professional courses of education is One year Certificate Course in Physiotherapy. The course is inconformity with the guidance of World Health Organization (WHO). According to, “Physiotherapists assess, plan and implement rehabilitative programmes that improve or restore human motor function, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments. They apply abroad range of physical therapies and techniques. They may develop and implement programmes for screening and prevention of common physical ailments and disorders.

Eligibility: Minimum HSLC Passed.

Duration: The duration of the above course is One Year.

  • General Physiology
  • Exercise Therapy
  • Electro-Therapy
  • Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in Orthopaedic & Neurological Conditions.

Faculty Members: Professional and experts faculty members will impart the training programme.

Examination & Certificate: Class test will be held regularly. Performance of the students will be taken at the end of the session.

            Certificate shall be issued on the basis of percentage of attendance, & result of Final Examination.

Class Timing: Classes shall be held 3 days in a week or as decided by the authority.


Two courses of Embroidiary and Tailoring are conducted in the Institute by a Mahila Samity by name and style Ladies Group Mahila Samity. Each of these courses are of 1 year duration.

Admission is open throughout the year.


Other short type of vocational training courses are conducted by this Institute as sponsored by different Govt. departments and voluntary organizations. Since these are sponsored programme there is no course fee fixed. However if any organisation want to train or sponsor candidates, Rajiv Open Institute will conduct the course on payment from the sponsoring organisation.
